Make colorful glass beads—enough for a bracelet or necklace—while learning the basics of hot glassmaking. Participants receive a complimentary sustainable glass gift, and their beads will be strung and ready to take home on the same day.

Introduction to Hot Glass – From Bottles to Beads
Step into the glowing world of hot glass making. This hands-on workshop is an intensive 3 hours of learning about how glass moves and flows when it is HOT. We work with bottle glass – see how to ‘open a bottle’ and transform it into workable pieces that are transformed into bright, beautiful beads. This class is a great introduction to the art of hot glasswork, where you are learning how to move with the glass – developing your skills and learning ‘how to move with the hot and molten material – GLASS. Creativity, skill, and sustainability all rolled into one unforgettable experience.

Participants begin by learning how to safely use the glassmaking torches, how to stay safe as they get familiar with the torch equipment. With guidance you will slowly learn how to move, discover the importance of how to heat, shape, and manipulate the molten glass. We are turning simple glass bottles into shimmering, handcrafted beads. There’s time to experiment and to make as many beads as you can – enough to create your own bracelet or necklace to wear home.

All materials and tools are provided, with our focus on sustainable practice, using discarded glass to create new beauty. You’ll also receive a Refind Coaster as our sustainable glass gift to you – a keepsake to remind you of your creative journey and your part in giving new life to reused materials. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own string of beads, proudly strung and worn home on the same day — a radiant, handmade memento of your time working with glass, fire, color, and a renewed understanding of sustainable transformation in Bali.
